PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA
Starting with May 25, 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) comes into force. GDPR is a unique regulation, directly applicable in all member states of the Union and replaces Directive 95/46/CE and, implicitly, the provisions of Law no. 677/2001 for the protection of individuals regarding the processing of personal data and the free movement of such data.
Valrom Industrie, as well as the other companies in the Romstal group (hereafter collectively referred to as "Romstal"), applies a policy of confidentiality and security of personal data in strict accordance with the provisions of the GDPR, and as part of our commitment to respect the rights of individuals whose personal data we process, below we send you relevant information regarding the manner, purpose, legal basis and duration for which we process your personal data, as well as regarding the rights you benefit from and how you can exercise these rights.
What personal data do we use?
We process your contact data (name, surname, phone number, e-mail address, postal address), as well as your purchase history in order to interact with you.
In certain cases (for example when we provide you with a product or a service) we process data such as personal code, serial number and identity card number or bank data.
Also, when you visit one of our sites, we can process information about the devices used to access the sites and about your interaction with the sites.
Why do we process your data?
Romstal obtained your personal data either directly from you (because you interacted with us at one of the events organized by Romstal, you purchased one of the products or services sold by us or you requested an offer from us or you visited one of the websites- ours), or from one of the Romstal partners who requested a personalized offer for you.
We use this data to achieve the following legitimate interests of us or our partners:
Sending promotions, offers and news adapted to your interests and needs;
Providing associated services (warranty, revisions, etc.) in the case of long-term products;
Direct marketing services (via electronic or physical mail) and advertising regarding our products and services;
To ensure the proper functioning of our sites and to improve their performance, as well as to ensure your access to the accounts created within our sites; Market research activities and surveys;
Also, if you requested an offer from us or purchased a product or service sold by Romstal, we process your data to be able to respond to your requests and to provide you with the respective service or product.
How long do we process your data?
In order to ensure the most personalized experience in your interaction with us, we keep your personal data for a maximum period of five years from your last interaction with Romstal, except in cases where the applicable legal regulations require a longer storage period. However, we do not undertake to keep this data for the entire period mentioned above and we may delete or anonymize your data earlier.
Who do we disclose your data to?
Romstal does not sell, transfer, disclose or allow access to your personal data to third parties unrelated to its activity.
In order to achieve the goals described above, Romstal may disclose your personal data to the suppliers of products and services engaged by Romstal to interact with you, respectively:
– transport or courier companies and logistics operators employed by Romstal;
- electronic payment processors in the case of online sales;
- specialized companies that carry out marketing campaigns or market research on behalf of Romstal;
- IT service providers assisting Romstal for the operation and maintenance of Romstal systems and sites;
- Romstal partners through whom the products and services requested by Romstal are sold and/or installed;
- maintenance and warranty service providers employed by Romstal.
In all the cases described above, the disclosure of your personal data is carried out on the basis of a contract concluded with the recipients of the data, whereby they undertake to use the data exclusively for the purpose for which they were entrusted, to respect the obligation of confidentiality and insurance of data security, as well as to comply with all provisions of the legislation in force regarding the protection of personal data.
We can also disclose your personal data to public authorities (Prosecution, Police, courts and other competent state bodies), based on and within the limits of legal provisions and as a result of express requests made by them.
What rights do you have and how can you exercise them?
The entry into force of the GDPR will ensure the following rights that you can exercise free of charge:
To be informed, once a year, whether or not Romstal processes your personal data and what they are;
To request the correction of the transmitted data, if they are incorrect or incomplete;
To oppose the processing of your data, for well-founded and legitimate reasons related to your particular situation. In the case of processing for direct marketing purposes, you can object at any time free of charge and without justification;
Request the deletion of your data, except in cases where the law prohibits deletion.
You can exercise the rights mentioned above by sending an e-mail to dataprotection@romstal.ro.
To protect your personal data and your interests, we may request additional information for the purpose of your identification.
Confidentiality of your data
When we process your data, we use technical and organizational measures to ensure the confidentiality, availability and correctness of your data.
Personal data that benefit from a special protection regime (personal numerical code, series and number of the identity document, bank data), are processed under restrictive conditions and in accordance with the legal provisions applicable to this type of data, with the provision of technical measures adequate to protect them.
However, no information security system is infallible. That is why we work continuously to ensure that our security measures are kept at the highest level and we are committed to informing you in time in case of any security incidents that could present a significant risk to your rights.

The appointment of Mr. Radu Claudiu Ionescu, lawyer at SCA Ionescu si Sava, as data protection officer, at the level of the entire Romstal group, based on the legal assistance service contract concluded between Romstal Investment SRL and SCA Ionescu si Sava.
