The project “Access to water through drilling, carried out by Aqua Foraj Plus” was initiated to improve the drinking water infrastructure in several localities in Romania. The beneficiaries of this project are the local councils and regional or municipal water companies, which have collaborated to ensure constant access to quality water resources for their residents.
Project Objective
The main objective of the project was for Aqua Foraj Plus to drill wells for groundwater extraction and install modern piping systems for water distribution, produced by Valrom Industrie. The wells were drilled in strategic locations to meet local needs and ensure efficient distribution of drinking water.
Scope of Work
The project ran from 2021 to 2023 and included several key stages for drilling boreholes and installing the necessary equipment. Works were carried out in the following locations:
PODARI
- Boreholes: 6 boreholes drilled, of which 3 boreholes at 150 meters depth and 3 boreholes at 20 meters depth, with 200 R16 diameter.
CHIAJNA
- Boreholes: 2 boreholes to a depth of 90 meters, diameter 180 R16.
COSMESTI VALE (TECUCI)
- Boreholes: 2 boreholes to a depth of 120 meters, diameter 225 R16.
BERESTI GALATI
- Boreholes: 3 boreholes drilled, of which 2 boreholes at a depth of 140 meters and 1 borehole at a depth of 145 meters, with a diameter of 225 R16.
OLARI
- Boreholes: 2 boreholes to a depth of 90 meters, 200 R10 diameter.
TANDAREI
- Boreholes: 5 boreholes to a depth of 90 meters, diameter 225 R16.
CALUGARESCA VALLEY
- Boreholes: 1 borehole drilled to a depth of 120 meters, diameter 200 R16.
COCORASTI
- Boreholes: 1 borehole at a depth of 170 meters, diameter 200 R16.
Technology Used
The project used modern products and systems made in Romania by Valrom Industrie to ensure the quality and durability of the works. These include:
- SpringKIT PVC pipe for well boreholes: Used to capture groundwater and provide an efficient and resilient pipeline.
- Electrofusion fittings PN 16: PVC pipe jointing fittings with electrofusion welding machine.
- StockKIT Storage Tanks: Used for water-bentonite mixing.
- HDPE water pipes PN 10, PN 16: HDPE pipes have been used for water distribution networks due to their durability and strength.
- D90 and 110 mm compression fittings: Used for connecting and sealing tubing, ensuring a perfect seal.
Project Impact
The “Foraje – Aqua Foraj Plus” project has had a significant impact on local communities, ensuring access to safe drinking water and contributing to the improvement of water infrastructure. Through the use of modern technologies and quality materials, the durability and efficiency of the installed systems was ensured.
Final Thoughts
