The present work is a representative one for Valrom Industrie, being also the first work with PE (polyethylene) pipes and fittings with a diameter greater than 630mm that it has commercialized.
A pedestrian walkway was formed underneath which created access from DN2A, to Carrefour Constanta as well as to the other stores in the area, and the pipes were insulated and wrapped with treated sheet metal and UV resistance.
In the initial project, steel pipes were included, but due to the very high costs, the builder could no longer meet the tendered price. Valrom Industrie came up with a proposal and solution to replace the steel pipes with PE pipes and fittings, which significantly contributed to reducing the total cost of the project, thus falling within the tendered cost.
The beneficiaries were quite reluctant because they had never used PE pipes larger than 630mm in diameter before and because they did not think the fittings would fit or last.
Valrom came up with the model fittings, welding and anchoring know-how (there were some pretty tricky angle combinations).
The work experience and the skillful hand of the welder at that time, nea Romica, played their part in the completion of the project and everything turned out as expected without any problems. The deviations and bends were encased in concrete to avoid possible damage caused by the high pressure or to avoid being affected by the effect of the “battering ram”.
The connection between the old concrete pipes and the PE pipes was made with special imported couplings.
Thanks to the courage and ingenuity of the Valrom team, the project was completed successfully! The builder kept within the tendered price, the designer and the beneficiary RAJA Constanta were pleased with the result, and Valrom has once again distinguished itself by the quality of the materials, the skill of the people and the work well done!
